Satellite Blooms will be performing on the tasting room patio Saturday, August 4th from 3-5pm. Join us for an afternoon of folk tunes from this Portland based acoustic duo while enjoying some delicious wine. Picnics welcome!
At its core, Satellite Blooms is an acoustic duo made up of Kevin Welsh (voice & guitar) and Lucas Cook (drums & cymbals). Together, they share a deep appreciation for american music and a gift in bringing it to life.
Kevin Welsh is a singer and songwriter who’s love of music began early with classical voice training. Later, he picked up the guitar and found a passion for the craft of songwriting. His subtle presence and command on stage is a joy to witness. Kevin’s voice is a truly rare gift and serves as the focal point for this musical project –– his ability to embody distinct American styles while maintaining his own is uncanny.
Lucas, an art and visual culture graduate is a natural drummer. Moved by the rhythms of the world, he loves infusing american pop and folk music with deep grooves and subtle improvisation.
Celebrate Mother's Day with us and treat mom to some delicious wine! Sign mom up for any of our Wine Clubs and enjoy complimentary tasting for the two of you in the Tasting Room when you visit. It's all about raising a glass in appreciation for mom's everywhere today!
Wooden Sleepers will be playing at our humble Gazebo stage Sunday, September 3rd. Join us for an afternoon by the lake listening to the tunes of this Portland based folk trio while enjoying some delicious wine. Picnics, children and leashed pets welcome!
Wooden Sleepers spans the broad genre of folk, from softer tunes resembling traditional folklore, through upbeat chops in the direction of bluegrass, and on to modern folk with true flavor and creativity. Their combined mandolin, guitar, acoustic bass, and welling harmonies create a whirlwind of enchantment and positive vibration.
The band formed in early 2014 and is comprised of Nolan Gordin, Nik Kemmer, and Phil Krug, with frequent special guests. They hail from California, Maryland, and New York but met in Portland in 2013 at singer/songwriter nights and on the soccer field. All members contribute to song writing and are multi-instrumentalists. With lyrical content reminiscent of travel, romance, the beauty of nature, and life in the Old west, they are sure to captivate. Their influences include Trampled by Turtles, The Wood Brothers, Elephant Revival, Railroad Earth, Milk Carton Kids, and Fruition.
